The rumours have been confirmed! Yes, The Hollywood Reporter today announced that Christian Bale is up for the role of John Connor in the next TERMINATOR movie. Bale is up for the role in TERMINATOR: SALVATION, which is to be helmed by McG. The role has previously been played by Edward Furlong in TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY and Nick Stahl in that film's sequel TERMINATOR: RISE OF THE MACHINES.

The trade reports that "T4's" story, by David Campbell Wilson, John Brancato and Michael Ferris, focuses on John Connor, now in his 30s, as he leads what is left of the human race against the machines.

It is expected that the orginal Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, now Governor of California, will not appear, despite starring in all three previous movies.

T4 is being made Halcyon Company and Intermedia, and will be distributed by Warner Bros.
